What To Do Next To A Refrigerator/Range & Granite Baseboards

What to do next to a fridge?  Cut tiles to cabinet end or finish with edges and a corner if you  have enough clearance.

What to do next to the range? No need for edges here. Cut tiles to ¼” wider than range. This will leave 1/8” on each side. Ranges have leveling legs; adjust to finished countertop height.

Granite Baseboards —“The Upscale Look”. Use Bedrock “Quarter Rounds” to cap off the exposed to edge.

Impregnator/Sealer

Seal the granite and grout together after the grout has dried.
Use Miracle brand 511 Impregnator, or other penetrating sealer. Sponge brush.

10 Tips To Success

1.

Cut granite with shiny side up-less chipping occurs.
2. Use chamfer stone to ease edge after cutting.
3. Layout - Start from an inside corner with a full tile and work your way out.
4. Install field tiles first ,then the edges and corners.
5. Butt Joint tiles together. It just looks better and the grout will take just fine.
6. Dry layout the granite first before thinsetting down.
7. Laminate - Install backerboard over formica for better bonding.
8. Thinset - mix like peanut butter…Less sagging.
9. Speed set the edges for stronger and faster bond and less sagging.
10. Use blue painters tape to hold edge rails in place while drying.
